Whatcha guys think? Novembers training day we bust out the scatterguns! The only Friday I have off is the 19th though.

Well, I'm not on call so I could probably make it...but the only shottie I own is a hand-me-down bolt action 410. I've been intending to purchase one for a long time but never have...

I can get you one in time!

Actually I forgot I sent my stock to Limbsaver to have them custom fit their recoil pad so hopefully I have it back in time.

I would but both of my mossbergs are in a safe a state away.

I might could come out, run a timer and laugh and point cheer the shooters.

I'm down but that's not my Friday off.

On the other hand ... I probably wouldn't feel too guilty about exiting a bit early on a Friday...

If anyone doesn't have a shotgun we can pass mine around if it's back. If not I guess we can do carbine...

If I could make it others would be welcome to shoot my 870 also. I hardly ever get to shoot it so it'd be interesting to get a little time with it.

So is it a consensus to bring shotguns for the 19th? Heck, I'll bring my carbine and pistol too just in case we want to do something else too.

Looks like it. How does 50 rounds of birdshot and a few slugs and your pistol with 20 or so rounds sound?

So does 1pm work for everyone? It's dark at freaking 530 now.

I don't know if I will be able to make it that early. I'll just see how work plays out. Where are you guys doing this?

We just meet in one of the cowboy action bays.

1 is a little early for me too. Maybe 2 or 2:30 would be a little easier?

Me and Doc are planning on 1 unless he gets called in. He wanted to work some extra pistol stuff anyway so we can do that first. I'd bump it to later but the boss took off work and is already mad I'm leaving her to go shoot but I told her I couldn't bail four months in a row! So when y'all get there we will start shotguns. BTW I got rid of the jeep and drive a Honda element now.

Had a good time with the Josh's at the range today. I don't think the weather could've been much better. Thanks to Josh-L for helping me out with the pistol today and with getting the carbine sighted in. The main attraction today was the shotgun and various drills including tac reloads, changing shells (shot to slug) on empty and loaded chambers, and transitions to pistol. It was a good learning experience since my shotgun experience is pretty much nil. Now I've got to decide, pump or semiauto....

Yep, good times, good to see you both again. Thanks for sharing the shotgun tips, Josh. Now to get my ol' birdgun sorted out.

You guys did good for shotgun newbs! I wasn't very prepared for this trip with any cool drills but I think we got some good practice in. I don't know why Doc asked for pistol help. He was smoking me the "instructor" lol. Now where's my cool guy picture!
