I checked Eagle's website (New Products; Cases; Bags, Miscellaneous) and can't find anything.

I know its not eagle's, BUT ....................have you guys never used a bag from Timbuk2? You can build it from some different designs they have and apply colors of your choice. Its been a while since I been on their site so don't have price.

Thanks for the link, Rob. Looks very promising and covert. Many of today's "Active Shooter" bags stand out like a sore thumb in public. Great for an LE on-duty, but not for those like me who are walking around with the masses.

I'm looking for something that doesn't scream "tactical". This means, no camouflage, no exposed PALS, no huge Fastex buckles, etc. I've been toting a green Old Navy messenger bag for about 4 years, but it's too soft (doesn't maintain shape) and was definitely not made with magazines or a handgun in mind. But it sure blends in well...

Timbuk2? I've never even heard of that brand.

I've been looking for awhile for a laptop case that can house a pistol the way I want it to. I'm not sure this is the solution for me, but it's good to see things moving in the discreet direction.

Now, imagine walking into a meeting with one of these things, and seeing the guy across the table from you with the same bag.:D

I didn't see the messenger bag. I did see a really cool Eagle bag that Helmie of I-Shot brought by the shop last week that's pretty bad ass. It was similar to this bag but bigger and I think it was made exclusively for I-Shot.

But was black and was essentially a large range bag. In the very back it would hold 4-100 round plastic pistol containers (or a 15" laptop). In the middle it would hold pistol, belt holster, mag pouches etc. and it the front mags, shooting glasses, hearing protection etc. and it was hydration compatible. It looked just like a large pack and didn't scream 'gun'.

I know exactly what you mean. I've been going nuts for a year now trying to find something in this area. I had one on order from a custom maker, but he'd never tell me what was going on and finally just sent back my $. I tried to talk to LBT (since they're local) about a bag like this, but they blew me off after trying to get me to buy a fanny pack.

I have retrofitted several Timbuk2 bags with internal mag carriers etc ( can use 511 pockets too)... using velcro. I am also in the process of modifying an Old navy bag too, definitely more FLOP to that bag.

I have a couple Timbuk2 bags but I always wanted an internal holster for those special moments on my commute when I felt I needed a little something "extra".

If I could get a backpack with a laptop sleeve and a hidden holster I'd have it made in the shade.

I like the idea of fitting 5.11 pouches in the bag. Smart idea

Here is one I had made. All Mollee inside so you can change the set up. Elastic keepers on the interior sides. Cinch cord on the interior bottom. Hole on top for an Antenna or drink tube. 12" Velcro straps that you can run under the Mollee to secure a Broke down M4. Its basically a modified Spartan. The guys who make the Spartan might use some of these Mods in their next generation.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o208/kgoerz/bagg.jpg

Here it is loaded with pouches. The bottom in this picture has nothing on it. Since it was a lot of wasted space. I had two rows of elastic loops sewn in. Then ran cinch cord between them. See above pic.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o208/kgoerz/pouchesopen3.jpg
Here it is hanging up. You can see the space better that now has the cinch cord.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o208/kgoerz/Picture042-1.jpg
All buttoned up.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o208/kgoerz/closed2.jpg

Here is one more Bag I made. Just long enough to hold an assembled M4. There is a slit on the side for a Barrel to stick thru. For non discrete carry of a longer Rifles. This bag has all the features as the above Bag. Just longer.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o208/kgoerz/GUNBAG4.jpg

Showing where the Barrel can stick out if needed. Sorry not designed to shoot out of;)
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o208/kgoerz/Picture042.jpg

All buttoned up. You can see the hole covered with a Velcro flap. For a drinking tube or Antenna. I also added to loops on the outside corners so it doesn't sag when hung on the wall.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o208/kgoerz/GUNBAG5.jpg
KISS, Velcro straps used to secure Weapons or other Gear.

The Multi Cam Bag is a Spartan Bag I had made with my modifications. The people who make the Spartan gave me permission to show this Bag. They might make their next version with some of these mods.
The Green weapons case might get made by another company but I'm not sure. Best thing to do is find a Local Gear Maker or sewing shop. If you make Gear for your own use no one cares if it looks like someone Else's. Just don't start selling them, fact it's free advertising for them. You are probably the 200 person to ask me about this Bag.

I like the cut of your jib. Excellent concept, thanks for sharing. Was your modification of the spartan extensive (expensive?)? Who did your nylon work?

If you don't mind sharing some more.;)

Bringing this one back because I noticed last night that the Eagle Courier bag is available on their website.

http://www.eagleindustries.com/prd_detail.asp?ProdID=716&CatID=72&SubCatID=28

Anyone got one yet?

After farting around with civvie bags like my trusty Eastpak and a very nicely built (but poorly laid out) Crumpler bag, I'm wondering if this would do the trick. The Bail Out style bags that so many prefer seem too big to carry around everyday, hence my search for something more like a messenger bag.

Oh, thanks for letting me know they were available!

I'm going to order one in the next week or two so you can check mine out when it arrives. I use a Timbuk2 bag every day and I love it but the extra "features" of the Eagle are just too good to pass up :)

Argh. I have a knack for seeing the word "available" and thinking it means available. I've already been down the road of ordering something and it not showing up for a year.

Available for order and available for shipping are two entirely different things with Eagle.

I recently inquired about ordering a new chest rig they have, and was quoted a 40 week delivery time (and I am a dealer). There are supposedly some initiatives in place to help with this production delay, but they are at least 3-6 months off.
