Help with M4 build

I'm looking to build a "clone" carbine, which barrel is closer to the M4/M4A1? I have a registered SBR lower.

I'm no expert, but since this is the Internet, it allows me to comment anyway.

I believe it depends on what you want to clone. The M4 Carbine upper gives you an M4 clone. With your SBR, you don't need the pinned and welded A2X flash hider right I believe.

The SOCOM profile is apparently being used in the newer M4A1's. The heavier barrel is for enhanced FA fire.

So I guess it really depends on what you want to clone. M4 or M4A1.

You get everything except for the FA fire.

M4 .gov profile = M4.

SOCOM profile = M4A1.

And you WILL have to SBR a 14.5" bbl unless you perm the FH.

If you want a 14.5 with a pinned hider........ get a different lower than your SBR.

Since you have a SBR look at the shorter barrel uppers.

Since you already have an sbr'd lower, why not go for a BCM 11.5"? That's what I'd do.
