Ok,

I am pretty technically proficient, but for the love of God.

I am trying to get a rail piece installed on the bottom of my Vtac rail on the 8 o'clock position (left side of the rail, closest to the receiver) of my Vtac extreme rail, and I just can't get it. It doesn't seem like the rail and the inside piece wont' line up properly. I am using a punch to try to hold the inside piece in place, but still can't get the bolt to screw in. Help me with ideas before I go nuts.

I've found putting rails on my installed TRX-E can require three hands at times. Thoughts:

Did you pre-thread the screw into the backing plate to clean up the threads?

I use either a piece of small dowel or a length of THNN to hold the backing place in position. I wrap a piece of electrical tape around the end a few times then fold it back to wrap it sticky side out a few turns.

Be sure to liberally apply blue language.

Good luck!
