Requesting pics of a 14.5 lightweight middy with MOE midlength handguards with either NFA or with a long FS pinned. Considering this BCM upper for my next lightweight build and only seen a few lightweight middies and a few with MOE HG's.

No MOE mid length hand guards, using CavArms mid length tapered C8"s.
But it is a BCM LW 14.5 w/pined 1.5 BC on a DD lower.

That's a fine looking piece. Everything you need, nothing you dont.

I am swapping the DD lower to a BCM, using the DD on a new build in the works. And switching sling rear connection to the stock. Love the LMT rear but thinking about going smaller to lighten, maybe a Larue same plane fixed.. And if IWC rolls out their scout light mount, I'll swap my x300 on the FSB mount for my scout. All in all it it light and has good balance. Shoots and stays on target as well, thanks to BC and my ninja skills. LOL j/k.

Take a look near the bottom of page 412 of the "AR Picture Thread"

How does the Cav Arms furniture match the Magpul stuff? Looks very nice!! That's definitely the way I'm headed also.

Cav Arms Coyote Brown matches Magpuls FDE, at least for Cav Arms polymer lower.

Color match is exact for the FG and the FDE as far as I know, I have had both. Although CavArms states on its website that their FDE isn't the same as Magpuls but their Coyote does match.

Hope the OP doesn't mind if I repost this here. This is the direction I'm headed with the upper. I'll be using a Cav Arms MkII lower in Coyote Brown with the midlength FDE Magpul MOE's. To keep it light, I might have the upper swapped out for a slick side upper with no brass bump or FA. BUIS and optics will be a Magpul rear BUIS, DD lightweight mount and Primary Arms GEN8 w/ killflash.

Very nice! Yea, I definitely want something different in the way of handguards like the midlength MOE.

I really like the MOE handguards. I've handled some other weapons with the quad rails on them, and didn't care for the added weight or feel of the rail, and I didn't blow $200+ on it either. I'd like a lower profile mount for the light, but other than that, I'm pretty much done.

Is there more muzzle flip with the lightweight middies or less than a carbine? Do I even want to venture in the area of 14.5's undergassed or 16" carbines overgassed? I think I'll put a Battlecomp on it anyway to compensate for any more muzzle flip in a LW barrel.

Check out the IWC site, or even Gear Sector.

I only have the 16" BCM LW, but here it is with MOE handguards.

Lighter weight is always going to mean more felt recoil. While the differences might not always be massive, they are still present.

Mighty fine as always, Stick! Anyone have a Cav Arms MkII on this upper setup?

Quite possibly the best firearms purchase I have made in a long time!

In the spirit of everyone showing you setups with bits and pieces of what you're looking for, I swapped some things around and took these pics for you:

I ordered the FDE MOE middy handguards today, (just got in-stock at BCM) last thing I needed to finish my BCM LW 14.5" build. Should have some pictures to share soon.

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! I just got the Cav Arms MkII in Coyote brown also...and a black one....from DSGarms, they were on sale for $90 a piece....so I got 2 for 1...almost.

90$ is a great price, I got mine from brownell's about 2 years ago for 100$ with my c&r discount. Hopefully the fit and finish on these latest ones aren't too shabby. I had to do a little bit of drilling on the buffer spring retaining pin's roll pin hole and file the mag wells on mine.

here's a pic with the black lower:

Phaz, Mag, nice rifles. I do have some questions if you dont mind. First off have you ever attached a sling? How was the comfort? How is the durability so far?

Does anyone have a pic of the Cav Arms MKII mounted to a upper using a midlength MOE handguard?

Phazuka

I threw this together last weekend for my CMMG .22lr upper. It's VERY light, just what I wanted. Now for a light weight mount and Primary Arms micro dot w/ the kill flash. I should have a 556 14.5 LW mid length when they get the next batch in, then I can update the thread with pics with it in FDE magpul MOE's.

Not a lightweight barrel, but 14.5" mid length and MOE.

Looks great and nice photography, and looks nice with the new optic.

I'm going on nearly the same route as you on my next lightweight, inexpensive build.

Are you changing the A2 grip or keeping it as is?
