Hey guys, i've always like the single action revolvers, maybe that Clint Eastwood guy amazed me so i just got so much interest in SA revolvers, but my question is, i've never seem them or any luck searching or a clip anyone fanning a 44mag single action revolver. i know he recoil will probably blow your head off with the second or third shot. but anyone done it? lets' break it down. 45LC everyone does it, 357mag, i've seen it done. but 44mag. no...and please dont try it if you have one just to show me if it can be done.

Fanning a Single action is good for nothing more than burning powder.

Now, "thumbing" a single action can be used to good effect. I used to do it all the time in Cowboy Action Shooting. As for fanning a .44Mag... well, never seen it, never wanna see it done. Just a big waste of bullets.

Been shooting a while. Have a 4".44 mag. Never tried it. Never seen anyone try it. I guess if you wanted to hit something while doing it, you could stand a couple of feet in front of a school bus and hit it a couple of times, if you don't hit your foot first.

Clint Eastwood (as Dirty Harry) shot a double action 44 mag S&W Model 29...

I agree with the above... "fanning" a 44Mag would be ill-advisable...

Questions about fanning a .44 magnum are a bit like questions on how to install some impossibly gaudy rear wing on a Honda Civic, only with a significantly greater chance of injury.
