The Ithaca M37 Defender arrived today. Everything is as expected. Fit, finish, and overall quality are excellent. The wood is Black Walnut with a satin finish. The metal finish is Perma Guard.
The barrel is 18.5", cylinder choke. I had Ithaca install the barrel band attachment to the magazine tube. The trigger guard, and assembly is all metal, and there is "NO" trigger disconnector!

now all you need is a side saddle and a mag extention.

Is this a new gun? I have an older 37 that I shot my first deer with and have since retired it to safe queen status. It's awesome! I hope you enjoy yours.
