I read the thread about the Glock 19, and understand why everyone feels that it is arguably the best Glock model due to the reliability, the size and the caliber. (many PD's authorize 9 mm)

I know that the Glock 21 has less reliability compared with the Glock 19. Has anyone documented the same reliability issues with the Glock 30? I am not looking to compare the 30 with the 19 but only wish to know if the 30 is more reliable than the 21.

I had a Glock 30 for awhile. It never failed to function for me. I didn`t put many rounds through it, though. I`ve never owned a 21, so I couldn`t compare. But I think you`ll find it`s not only reliable, but very accurate as well. HTH.

I've only got +/- 800rds through my Glock 30 so far, but I have only good things to report.

I've got almost 8k down the pipe on my G30 and the only failure I've had was related to a broken trigger spring. I have nearly the same number of rounds through my G21 with no problems so far.

I also had a broken trigger spring on my G19, but it didn't break until the 30k mark.

I have used my G30 & G21 is several classes. I would guess I have about 5,000 – 8,000 round through each gun. I have had a handful of failures to feed or fire, I would say 4 – 7 total. Both guns have been fine for me. I also have broken the trigger springs in my G21 and G30. I now run NY1 triggers in all of my family’s Glock’s.

I am a big guy 6’5” 300 lbs. I also have G21 sized hands. I think the grip size is the one thing that has kept the G21 from really being a hit like the XD45 has. I do not think the new G21SF grip size is significantly smaller like that of the XD45.

Also, my wife primarily shoots a G19. She does not shoot as much as I do these days. I would estimate her G19 has 2,000 – 3,000 rounds through it. I cannot recall any failures with her G19. At least she has never mentioned any to me. And I have not experienced any while shooting her gun.

I am not sure any one model is more prone to malfunction than others. I have a glock 21 that has about 10,000 rounds thru it and I have had one FTF in it.
