A yote and I crossed paths

Last saturday morning while in the deer stand a young yote came quartering in towards me at a trot. Waited until he got within 50 yards and let the .308 speak. Cut him half a flip and he was DRT. I rarely get the chance to see them, but I hear them almost every night. The hogs have been elusive as well.

Never heard of a pelt market like that in this area. I'll ask around.
Anyway the .308 made a really nasty entrance wound. Don't think this pelt would have been worth much.

This is what I'm really after. Caught on my camera this past Tuesday. The pic is blurry cause he's on the move. Big ten point.

Some jurisdictions offer a bounty for each coyote you kill. Some counties near where I live pays $50 each.
