New to ARs - looking at a Colt 6920 - suggestions?

Hello all. I am brand new to ARs and other than shooting it at the range with a few friends I'm pretty much wet behind the ears. I've heard so many good things about Colts and in partucular the 6920. This was the first AR that I've ever shot and it seems only right that I buy one of my own. I have also read up on Bush Master and Smith and Wesson. Looking for some expert advice and what others would do if you were in my shoes.

Colt is excellent.
For whole guns the brands I'd buy personally are Colt, Noveske, KAC, BCM, LMT, Daniel Defense and some newer S&Ws.
There are other companies that make good stuff too but I don't have enough first hand experience to want to buy them.

3. Long story short, You can't go wrong with Colt. There are several other brands that people recommend here as well, but Colt is still on (almost) everyone's list, near the top of it.

Welcome to the site. There is a ton of info on this site regarding anything you would ever need to know about AR15s. Start reading and don't buy anything you haven't researched and are not comfortable with.

That being said, the Colt 6920 is a great gun but take advantage of the info on this site and research before you make your decision. Good luck.

Starting with a 6920 or 6720 would start you off as well as possible - better than most who start by buying a bushmaster HBar boat anchor and wind up selling it.
