Class GFT-9-1-2010

This was the ninth class and was pretty evenly divided between military with 4 different units represented and LEO with reps from Pima County Sheriff's, Tucson PD, Huachuca City PD, Cochise County Sheriff's, and ICE.
It is a two day class that includes many movent and I'm wounded drills.

Anyone know how to get ahead of this? I would love to be e-mailed the dates in Jan. Not only myself, but some others that I work with would love to fly down and take advantage of this free training. If anyone knows how to find out the Jan dates and where I can sign up, I would greatly appreciate it!

I agree, but I have seen this training around here before and I want to take advantage of the deal. There was a real AAR around the site a couple of days ago about this training (these specific dates) but I cannot find it anymore. I'm sure someone smarter than me know where to find it!

Hi, I'll post much more. There are a bunch of AAR's on this course. arizonashooting.com, defensivecarry.com, and I'll get them here.
This is a DPTMS approved class that began with soldiers From Ft. Lewis asking for a one day class that would get them at least able to use a handgun in their defense.
I was their training with Ayoob and Hayes and we put a one day class together. After two sessions at Ft. Huachuca were completed SGM Townsend asked me to add a day and include it with Interagency training. We ran it through JAG (Four of their Officers had taken the class) and we tried running it through MWR. But the risk assessment was too much for them. Then with the support of the Garrison Commander JAG and DPTMS put the legal requirements on so we could have a 'real' class. We have the support of MEDDAC, (go to berlinbrigade.com and listen to the podcast of SFC Southard on what it was like to be a medic at Checkpoint Charlie in 1961) after the 1st Sergeant listened to this broadcast they decided they had to support one of their own. I was assigned to WTU and the C O is one of the OIC's and the 1st Shirt is an RSO. Four other units are now doing the same thing.
We are taking December off (as does the army:-)} and plan the next class in January. Captain Bo will get with Range Control soon and we will try to have dates for January and Febuary. In March Mas Ayoob will be here and I will devote my time with him, but knowing him he will try to be part of a military class.

The Andy Brown drill. Taking out a whako who was heading to a kindergarten to kill children. Andy made a 61 meter shot. I borrowed this drill from Mas Ayoob who has his students do it.
Three folks have made 12 of 12 head shots out of nearly 150 who have taken the class.
Ron H 2007 National Police Champion from the Austin P D,(glock 19)
Ken B an instructor with the Cochise County Sheriffs,(Colt 1911)
