View Full Version : S&W 340 M&P "No Lock"

Picked up this S&W 340 M&P, .357 mag. today. It's a Scandium Alloy frame revolver. Weight 13.7 oz on my scale, S&W claims 13.3 oz. Front sight is XS Sight 24/7 Tritium Night sight. The most interesting thing about the 340 M&P is "NO LOCK"!!!
This should be fun to shoot. :o

Can you give a ballpark on how many shekels you had to part with for that?

I had one of those (I think mine had a lock though) right after they first came out. I sort of regret selling it to a buddy now. It was a great gun.

About a month ago, S&W announced that they were removing the IL's from the 340 series.

Nice purchase! Now get a set of CTC 405's and you've got the ultimate BUG, IMO.

I'm glad to see S&W removing the locks from a gun that is so popular in the LE community as a BUG. I scoured the market for a no-lock 442 when I was looking to purchase a BUG, I only wish the no-lock 340's were out then. Methinks an upgrade may be in the works.

First, $50 for a transfer is RAPE! Call around (especially to your Pawn shops). Most Pawn shops do transfers for $20.

Our shipping on the revolvers is $27 (not $50).

if so i have bought from grant before and like he said its only like 50$ or so after shipping/ffl fee adn then there is the rebate too

I'm shocked that they will sell weapons WITH the lock, as I've gotten Smith employees to admit to me that they know the locks fail.
