Now let me first say that I am in no way associated with this, and have asked the Mods if it was ok to post and they gave me their blessing. I was reading on lightfighter.net a couple days ago and saw a post about a group trying to solicite a buy for lower priced .223/5.56mm ammo. I signed up for 2 units (2K) rounds if it goes through. They are trying to get the ammo at $150.00/1k. Here is a link to the actual group, an eswarm. You guys can read up on it all you want.

Here is a link to the lightfighter thread, you have to be a member over there to read, but I imagine a good many of you probably are.

And this is a link to the guy who is running the add on the thread.

I think that there have been a request for a good bit of ammo so far, so aparently there is a good chance it might catch the eye of some manufacturer.

Like I said, you guys make your own decision on this, I am just passing on the word.

I am down for 10k. Hopefully it works out.

That's a pretty steep discount for most any ammo. Is there enough margin in ammo to sustain such a discount?

I got in the other day for 7,000 rounds. It will be interesting to see if it happens.

I agree that is about a $200 discount based off of regular box store prices. I'm not sure any manufacturer will be in for that since they are selling so much at their current prices. But if they do man that is a good deal.

Very doubtful this will happen, unless the manufacturers want to lose money.

I also doubt very seriously that you'll get 1K for $150, that's cheaper than VA police agencies can get ammo under the state contract prices.

For me... this falls into the category of "to good to be true"

Good luck to all those guys if it happens... but I'm not holding my breath...;)

Same here, but I got in just because it doesn't cost anything if it doesn't happen. If it does happen it's a bonus.

They should raise the target price to around $250 or so. Even that would probably be a no go right now, but at $150, that isn't going to happen.

I hope this works out.
I might even be happy with seconds... For $150 as long as it shoots.

I would also like some .45 auto... :D

That site is a total scam to get your information. I hope none of you signed up. If you did watch your credit reports and expect to get some spam mail.

The mfgs are selling it as fast as they can make it

Why exactly would they want to sell some for less

I don't believe that it is a scam. The company I work for had a contract to do a similar site. I am pretty sure the swarm concept is legit.

Holy crap. I thought I recognized that thread title.

Yes eSwarm was/is legit. I actually ended up getting commitments for over 2mil rounds. They simply couldn't get a vendor to commit to supplying. There was a push to meet in the middle at 275.00 per case, but then eSwarm was in serious financial trouble at the time (owner is a doofus). So we never managed to get any further with it.

*chuckles*
