What's the consencus on the Choate Varmint stock? I am thinking about picking one up for my Savage 10 FP.
It's heavy, but a significant upgrade over the factory 'Tupperware' stock. It is more rigid, has adjust comb height, and takes a bipod more readily without flexing the fore-end.

I put a Choate Ultimate Varminter stock on my 308 caliber Savage 10FP. The rifle shot 1 1/2" groups at 100 yards with match ammunition. I ordered a Choate stock and installed the rifle into the stock. With the same ammunition, my groups dropped to 3/4" and I could consistently shoot sub MOA groups out to 300 yards.
The stock is heavy and suitable for bench rest and prone shooting.
My 10FP still wears the Choate Tactical jobber (the A5 looking copy) and they are OK. Definitely a step up from the factory unit. However, if yore looking to upgrade the stock, then a look at the Bell and Carlson Medalist series is definitely worth it. Not much more price wise if at all.
