What is the most commonly referenced factory load for accuracy for a .270 win. factory load. I am going to be doing some shooting with a factory rem 700 and am looking for a starting point for factory ammo with good accuracy.
I know all guns are different and I need to try different loads but I'm looking for a starting point. It seems like Federal 168gr. GMM is pretty much the standard for .308's and I'm wondering what the equivalent would be for the .270.

Thanks.

Here's what worked in mine:

- 130 gr Fusion
- 130 gr Winchester Ballistic Silvertips

Both grouped well under an inch.

I have handloads that do better, but these are the best factory loads in my rifle.

In my last .270 win...which was a factory barrelled Remington BDL....It liked the Federal Premium loaded with the Sierra 130 gr BTSP. A precursory search brought up many links for availability, this just happened to be the first.

I would also give the 130gr Core Lokts a try. I am amazed at how accurate they shoot out of both of my 308's.

+1 on the 130 gr Winchester Ballistic Silvertips. Can't beat it for factory ammo.

Does anybody use 150gr rounds?

I killed 4 deer in 2008 and 4 deer in 2009 with a 270 130 gr ballistic tip.

I have experimented with 150 gr, but in an ultra light rifle, more accuracy is possible for me with the lighter bullet.
