I have an 11.5 in upper with a FSP. I will be taking FSP off and replacing it with a YHM low profile gas block. The question I have is how far back on to the barrel does the M4-1000 go. I want to buy a set of free floating hand gaurds that extent right up to the suppresser but with all the different lengths of hand gaurds out there (and Cost) I really do not want to spend money on the wrong length of hand gaurds. I want to have the hand gaurd stop and the M4-1000 begin. Does anybody have this set-up? The M4-1000 will be fast attach not screw on. I would like the hand gaurd and the suppresser to appear to flow to the end of the weapon. Could you post a pic ang give details please.

Below is a picture of a weapon (http://www.silencertalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12417)that I thought was great green one, but I have not been able to find out the length of hand gaurds he used. I beleave he is a member of this forum.

He is me. The hanguard length is 9.0 on the green gun.

However, that's an Ops, Inc. 15th model suppressor which mounts differently than the M4-1000. The 15th needs a barrel of at least 11.5" to mount properly, but the M4-1000 will mount, I believe, to a barrel down to 10".

I would guess that if you used an 11.5" barrel, a 10.0 rail over a low-profile gas block, and an M4-1000 you would be fine.

Rob,
Thank you, question would you take a trade for the green gun? Like a leg, my wife, my wifes dog, my daughters bird?

Rob,
Have you used YHM hand gaurds? Pro- Cons for them? Please or anybody that has them. Free floating are the ones that I was looking at.

If your are going to use a 11.5" barrel and a AAC M4-1000, the longest forearm you can use (without altercation) is a 10" forearm. Unless you use a YHM forearm, as the YHM has an ID that is large enough to "swallow" the suppressor. A PRI tube might have a ID that will allow the same.

However, I was able to mod a Troy 10" forearm on a LMT 10.5" upper for use with my AAC M4-2000 mod 06" ( identical dimensionally to a M4-1000).

Crappy pics.
