How long are these rail covers? The MagPul site doesn't give a length. I am looking to cover a DD 12.0 Lite rail.

covers 15 slots of rail

I believe that's 1 side of a 7" carbine length rail.

^^ OP is asking about XT panels rather than the XTM's on your rifles. ^^

As far as the length of the XT panel goes, they are 7" long with 3/4" perforated sections for cutting em down if need be.

Both are great. Thanks for the pictures. Really appreciated.

You're right my mistake. But get them XTMs anyway! :D

Indeed. Having used both XTs and XTMs, the XTMs get my wholehearted vote due to better appearance, and stronger grip--both with how it holds on to the rail, and how much easier they are to hold on to.

Not that you asked, but still. :p

I think XTM's look the best but I def. do not think they have the best grip among the diff. panels and covers. I personally think the XT's still have a place and in my case I love to run a single one on the underside rail...both the xtms and xt's have no where near the grip that the reprofiled and stippled KAC covers have if done properly...I like to reprofile mine really thin.

To cover all four sides of the 12" rail you would want to order 8 XT covers.

Actually, XT panels are a standard length of 6.5"... I have found if you are careful with a razor knife, you can get the sections and make them look continuous:

Personally, I like the grip of the XT better than the XTMs, but they are nice as well, and a bit more easily customized.

The covers are a 8 panels/inches long so you will need 1.5 panels per side. I attached a pic of my AR (which I just finished btw) that has a 12" Midwest industries rail on it, here's a link so you can see how the panels look. You should be able to see a black line 5 panels from the front where the covers meet.

I believe the XTMs come in four packs, and when put together cover roughly the same 6.5" as the XT panels.

I put some on my S&W 15-22:
