My question: is a USGI H buffer(1USGI Tungsten,2 steel) the correct set up for a 16" carbine gas length.
Thanks

At a minimum yes an H buffer. I'd probably use an H2 buffer.

If I use a H2 buffer should I change the accion spring too

Not necessary unless you really want to do some fine tuning.

That's what BCM installs in their 16" and 14.5" rifles with mid-length gas systems. H works fine with my 14.5 and 16 with XM193 and BlackHills BTHP ammo.

Some folks here have reported good results with a heavier buffer than that, however. Remember that ammo choice can also be a factor in which buffer works best in your rifle.

I run h2 but throw a carbine buffer in my pocket if shooting tula of hornady TAP urban. Actually I always keep a car buffer with me, but have never had a failure using a h2 in my bcm 14.5 car

I find that I need to switch from the H to a carbine buffer if I shoot Tula. Otherwise I run the H buffer all the time in my middy.

I would think your type of bolt carrier is also a factor. Are you guys running f/a or s/a bolt carriers?

M16 BC. H Buffer. 16" Mid. Is Tula ammo on the same lines as Monarch/ Wolf??

Right now I have an S/A bolt carrier in the one I shoot Tula through, but am replacing it with a F/A BCG.
