Want a 2010 LaRue Christmas Dillo?

What does a 'kick thirteen' (mil slang term) do, and what replaced it? How do you know it worked loading the key?

Someone IM'ed me the answer so at least one person got it.




For those wondering a 'kick thirteen' is a KYK-13 encryption loading device. It was replaced by the CYZ-10 (crazy 10).



I liked the KYK-13 better because it was so simple to use, and faster. The CYZ-10 is like a little computer type of thing, and we often had issues with them. They could do more functions but just a general PITA.


You would use these to do things like load COMSEC in a radio.
