Last night in orlando we lost a Deputy sherriff on what is being reported as a routine traffic stop.

Ex-con with lots of arrests that had been out of prison since last december. Then the douche kills himself before he was caught. I hope he burns in hell !!!

Completely senseless. Although it is tempting to call the perp an animal, animals do not kill without a good reason. Not so for the human species. Here is the POS that shot Deputy Coates.

Deputy Brandon Coates was laid to rest today in orlando. I have never seen so much support in my time here. When the first vehicles were pulling into the cemetery The tail end vehicles were still at the church, 16 miles away !!

People were stopped all over the place on the roads to watch him pass by. I was almost in tears myself thinking of the loss of Deputy Coates. He served 2 tours in Iraq as a marine.

Semper Fi Deputy, you will be missed.

LE funerals always get me and I've had to do four. Prayers for the family. They will need it this time of year.


What gets me is that this thread only has ten posts while other bullshit threads have pages and pages of rambling and bickering. Maybe I'm just having a bad day but that makes me sad. Shows what's important to everyone.

Oh well. I'll let it go.

This has been a horrible year for LE all over the country. PLEASE train hard and stay ALERT! Lets hope 2011 is much better than 2010.

OP thank you for the update. Were you able to attend?

Unfortunately no, I had to work and was actually held up in traffic by the funeral. This is one time that I did not mind being late to anything due to traffic.

It was an awesome display of support from all over the state. The radio said there was 3000 parking spaces at the church and it was full and they were filling all available parking around the area too.

I am not LE but have relatives and friends that are and that makes me very pro-LE
