I went out to my garage last night to get a wrench. As I opened the door, I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. I immediately went and grabbed my AR and activated my Surefire G2 LED in VTAC mount to secure the area. Upon re-entry of the garage, I found the intruder crouched in a corner trying to hide. I put two rounds into him at point blank range. Once I determined that the immediate threat was neutralized, I scanned the area for other threats. Once the area was clear, I proceeded to dispose of the body.

The terminal ballistics of the 20 grain .22 caliber Aguila Colibri round proved quite effective with minimal over-penetration. There was no damage to the concrete garage floor due to over-penetration.

All in all, it was a good shoot!:D

So, are you having the head mounted, or stuffing the whole body to place on the mantle over the fireplace?

Just because the shooting is done, you still need to protect yourself. I say drag the body out to the road and make it look like a suicide. :D

Hand to Hand. I would think more like Hand to Ankles. Unless of course the little sucker ran up his pant leg. Then things might have gotten a bit dicier:eek:

Holy shit... I recognized the intruder as soon as I saw the pic. So has Fox News broke the story that N.Korea is now looking for a new supreme leader??

A counter attack from the Egyptians! Only this time they are attacking Israel's supporters, and not Israel directly.... Damn you, Israel! Why did you have to launch that deadly man-eating shark attack on the Egyptian coast? It's no longer just Egypt feeling the sting...

It's being reported by Egyptian intelligence agencies that the suspect was trained at the same secret Israeli facility as the shark commando's were! Is this Phase II?

I'm glad you're safe man, a lot of good people have been taken down like this before. This should be a reminder to us all, stay vigilant!

I think we should also bring up why we're not allowed to have full auto rifles, I mean, what if there was more than 1 of them? We could have lost a M4C brother!

Oh, and thanks for the laugh guys, this site rocks.

Thanks for the laugh...and the flashback:

Once upon a time, I rented a house with some friends in a rural area. My housemate decided one night that the best way to reduce a large skunk that he discovered in the attached garage was with his HK USP fullsize and one of his whizbang super hot +P 9mm handloads.

The results were not as satisfactory as yours for either the skunk or the house dwellers. What a mess.

The last time I caught and killed an "intruder", I disposed of the body by giving it to the neighbor cat! This made for an effective evidence clean up as well as a happy cat :sarcastic:

Celebrate if you want, but the intruder looks like he came from a broken home. Allowed to run wild at night. Low self-esteem from being called a dirty rat his entire life. Looked down upon as nothing but vermin.

None of that was his fault, and he was probably just searching for a better life.

I know you're acting tough in front of everyone on this forum, but don't be afraid to ask for help if you're having a hard time dealing with this critical incident.

crouched in a corner trying to hide.

Obviously it was crouched in ambush waiting to strike... my brother died that way...:(

Luckily I have a highly trained member of the Small Noiseless Animal Killer and Eater variety always on alert!

So would you recommend the Colibri ammo as the best all-around home defense round?

ASH556
12-10-10, 21:24
Yes, for most applications. However, for barrier blind apps I recommend a mini mag!

I want to see the head on a wall as a trophy - the story of the kill can be passed from generation to generation.

When I was going to college I lived in a house that had several excellent pecan trees in the yard. The pecans attracted rats who hung out under the steps to a shed. I could see the steps from my desk and kept a Beeman R1 handy. One day I whacked four of them before lunch. Wondering how to dispose of the corpses I hit on an idea. I stapled them to the power pole out front, nose to tail. Looked like the Rat family was on an outing! The street was a highway for children to and from three schools. The Rat family caused quite a stir!

I put two rounds into him at point blank range.Needed two rounds, eh? Figures. That's what happens when you use a mousegun.

This is why we own ARs and train until are actions are second nature. Having to hand cycle your weapon quickly under that much stress, wow, who are you ? Frakin Rambo ?

PTSD?

PTSD?

Oh man, like you wouldn't believe. I've about blown my computer away like 4 times already because there was a mouse attached to it. This encounter is causing me to pursue long-term disability with my employer because I keep seeing those beedy little eyes staring at me whenever I try to work. That, and I start confusing "double-click" with "double-tap". Rough stuff, you know!:big_boss:
