BCM barrel markings question.
My first 14.5" BCM barrel was a darkish gray color with the markings stamped deep and neatly in one line across the barrel. My second 14.5" BCM barrel is black in color and the markings are in two rows across the top of the barrel and are very lightly stamped in a different font. The o in NATO is a square box for example. They do not line up in a straight line either.
Does this have any significance or is it just a different supplier that marks their barrels differently? I tried to get pics but the markings are so lightly stamped they cannot be seen in pictures. Not with my camera anyway.
I was just curious if anyone elses barrel is stamped this way. Thanks.
ETA the second barrel is a replacement barrel.

If it's from BCM it's GTG, regardless of how it's marked.

Agreed. Send them an email, I'm sure they can explain it.

And then post up the reply if you can. It would be neat to know a little info about what the markings mean.

But like the other poster mentioned, its BCM its gtg

There is some unhelpful group-think on this forum that is starting to chafe my buttocks. It has kept me from participating here in the past, and it's starting to make me want to tune out again.

How is it helpful to provide a non-answer such as, "If it's BCM, it's GTG?" If that isn't their slogan, it should be, because I see it everywhere.

I am thrilled for them that they have earned such a great reputation, especially in an era where Made in China and poor customer service are the norm. I plan to buy from them in the spring. I can't say anything to take away from them except that there are lots of formerly great companies that were GOOD TO GO until they weren't -- until they started supplying a few bad barrels, let bad heat treating out the door, etc. I think the poster is right to question the different markings, even if he/she could probably get a faster answer by calling BCM directly.

What did Paul at BCM say?
