How difficult is it to install an ambi selector on the AR platform? Does it have to be performed by an armorer or is it a anybody can do job?

stupor easy.

there's two types.. those with the set screw inside the receiver, and those with it outside on the port (starboard) side. i like the ones on the outside, just for Murphy's sake.

turn your current selector halfway between SAFE and SEMI, and punch it out. then slide in the big half of your new selector, and use the punch to depress your selector detent. then attach the left side as per required. use a small dab of blue loctite on the set screw.

violin.

THIS IS A MUST!!!!!! I also use gray nail polish. It works well for me. (not on my fingers, on the screw...:D)

They are easy to do....here is what the BAD-A.S.S. ambi selector looks like being installed.

First step....unscrew pistol grip screw and slowly lower the grip so that the spring a detent does not get lost. Once the detent is disengaged then the orginal selector will just slide out the other side.

Next step....take the new ambi selector center with one side already having a blue loctited and screwed down lever already assembled on it...then insert into the receiver making sure that the inside grooves of the selector center are in the proper place to catch the detent and spring once pistol grip is re-installed.

Last step....slowly slide the grip back up with the detent and spring in it's proper position and then re screw the pistol grip screw tightly. Once grip is installed then you take a lever and blue loctite it onto the side without the lever already.

I'd rather not ruin my precise point on the detent by punching a part out that doesnt need to be.

Not to mention that BAD I believe provides you with a new KNS detent pin when getting the BAD-A.S.S.

it doesn't do anything to the detent.
