View Full Version : Why is the GD section at the bottom?
As the title states why does the forum section that includes General Disscussion, Site Questions/Comments, etc. located at the bottom of the forum instead of its usual place at the top? Site change or is there something wrong on my end? Thanks.
I suspect the fact that this is a site dedicated to the M4 carbine and the use of, that they chose to move relevant discussion all the way to the top, and the less relevant material further down.

Bingo.
Sounds like a good move to me. It kind of caught me off guard when I was scrolling down to the dealer section and found this section at the bottom.
I thought I was banned from GD again......AGAIN!?

Love the new format, a small but significant change.

A good idea. We did this on another forum - it didn't make all that much of a difference to the activity distribution but it looks better that the forum's focus is at the top.

It's just a point of deliberate deemphasis.
Off-topic discussion is something that we allow, but not something that we seek to encourage. Sites which actively promote off-topic discussion tend to experience undesirable bleed-over into other areas of the site, and our aim is just to keep the focus here as "pure" as possible.

I agree its good policy. It's funny though how your mind gets used to things and after a while you don't read and just click. I kept clicking on the first forum in the second section and ending up in handguns instead of AR General and was very confused for a bit:p
Good move in my opinion. Maybe even take this another step and decouple GD completely and leave it at the very bottom.

Can we change the 'The Next Evolution in Tactical Forums' header to something else? It looks weird heading the forums that are now at the bottom of the index page.
