M&P problem feeding 147s....

My MP 9 (with Apex sear, disconnect & springs) feeds low and medium weight ammo fine. However, attempts to feed it 147 Golden Saber leads to feed stoppages. Anyone else have this problem? Solution? (No - I'd prefer to not drop down to lighter bullets - I'm kind of a heavy/deep penetration kind of guy:)

I honestly don't believe the grain matters that much in feeding. The shape of the round is whats doing it. I'd try another make and model of 147 gr. JHP. My M&P 9c runs 147 gr. Winchester and Speer Gold Dots without a hitch.

Totally agree not every gun like all types of ammo. You might try to lightly polish your feedramp to see if that will help especially if you can feel any light gouging, nicks, etc. Doubt you'd see them but run a fingernail across it and you should feel any. If that doesn't work call S&W and let them correct it on their dime.

9 mm 147 gr Win RA9T and 147 gr Fed P9HS2 have not posed any feeding problems over several thousand rounds...

I had this same problem with an Astra A-80 (actually still have the problem), but with a different HP. Polished the feed ramp and took some angle off, but still the same problem. Since it is only an under the pillow gun, I rounded the edges of the HP with a file and problem solved. I tried three different HP's with this pistol and nothing would cycle.

Has anyone had any feeding issues with 147 gr in a 9mm HK P30?

Taylor of taylor freelance in his book on competition Glocks stated that many 9 pistols had problems with 147's esp when xtd pads are used. The 147 has too much weight in the nose for many 9's.
try using Wolff +10% mag springs they will keep the nose up a little better.
If you think about it a 147 has 20% more mass in the nose over a std 124 gr loading so it makes sense.

Wife's M&P 9c eats Ranger T and HST 147's no problem.

Measure the OAL of the problem ammo, just in case it's a bad lot that was loaded long. Try some other brands too. My M&P runs fine on 147 gr gold dots and RA9T. Only changes from stock are Wolff +10% mag springs and an Apex DCAEK.
