Sad thing is that many smaller agencies in this country (that probably should not even have tactical teams) are equipped just like that and do some ignorant things. Not their fault but the fault of their leaders. The leaders decide that they must have a unit but fail to support it and get it trained. When you have a PD with 40 officers and 20 are SWAT you know you have a problem with your quality and selection process. My unit was like that in the early 90s when I got on. Since then my PD has grown from 60 cops to 360. Things have changed....

Were it not for the "Policia", I'd say I know those guys.

WOW, 60 to 360! I'm curious if crime has decreased.

This is like one of those "How many things can you find wrong in this picture?" puzzles my children enjoy so much.

No. We are understaffed. Our population is 300000 not counting illegals. We border Phoenix in the number 1 fastest growing city in the state of the one of the fastest growing counties in the nation.

Ha! You may know them anyway. Many of the SF guys I hung with used to slap someone in a barfight and yell Semper Fi. :D

Comedy relief for the day. Thanks, I needed a good laugh. In a world so full of ignorance this place is an oasis of tier-one-ness. And of course, humility.

At least they do display proper trigger finger indexing. That's a hell of a lot more than I can say about some people I see around gun clubs.

Been to two public range days in my life, and I think I am lucky have gotten out without having any extra holes. WHy can't people manipulate pistols without holding them sideways and looking at them? Why do they not realize that holding a shotgun in the crook of their arm while digging for snuff, smokes, or just scratching their asses is a bad idea? I am not speaking of a break open shottie, I mean a pump. I swear some of them guys seem to think that it doesn't count if they sweep you below your knees.

Do you think AK guy in foreground is carrying a bunch of pistol mags in those things or half-a-dozen Leathermans? :D

Seriously, I wonder where they are from.

And while they may look silly, they probably are just cops doing what they have to do with what they have been given. Hat's off to them if they are the real deal.

My guess would be Brazil. I watched an A&E special that covered the police departments in the five most dangerous cities a few years back. The Rio de J cops looked just like that. One had a vest mounted camera and shot multiple mags through a stainless 92SF into a bunch of favela huts. After the patrol he denied he was shooting.

The excellent film "City of God" has a good documentary in the extras that covers two heavily armed street kids and a local police officer as they go about their day to day activities. It includes some good footage of a police vs street punk firefight. Tactics on both sides were less than stellar.

I don't think I've covered the alternate shooting position that "balaclava man" has taken up.....

Maybe Larry, Pat or DP can cover that in the next class. :p
