First off my search function isn't working at all.

My question is this. I just received my T1 and was messing with the brightness dial. I noticed that I don't start seeing the red dot until 8-9. It really doesn't become bright enough for me until 11. I even went into a completely dark room and came up with the same thing. 7-8 I start to see the dot and 11 becomes where I like it. Is this normal? If not maybe the battery supplied with it is old and needs to be replaced.

Try a new battery and see if it's brighter? Cleaning the contacts might help, too.

I like mine on 9.

The more I mess with it I'm seeing that at 6 I can barely make out the dot. Anything below that there is no visible dot at all. 9-10 does look like where I'll be keeping it.

Most of those setting are for NV use.

Indoors, I usually set my T-1 around 8 or 9 and leave it. I think this is normal for a NV optic....IIRC my Aimpoint M4 is usually set around 11 clicks.

That's where I keep mine.

That's a good point. The maybe the original poster was concerned that no dot was showing up at the lower settings? Unless it's pitch dark out, my T-1 doesn't really become visible until setting 5 or 6. Yes you can see setting #4 without NV but only if you're in the dark.

Typical daylight setting for me is 8 or 9. Sounds like that's what others are doing as well.
