So I wanted to build a rifle for CQB and engagements out to 200 yards or so, but I didn't want to make an SBR for several reasons(Mostly I don't like having my name in a Federal Database). That's why I picked a 16in rifle.

Here's the basic specs. Don't hate because I started with a DPMS, I got it cheap.

-DPMS Panther A3 in 5.56
-Daniel Defense 7" Omega Rail
-FailZero BCG
-BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle MOD3
-Timney Trigger
-BWA X-Comp
-Vltor Sight Tower
-Troy BUIS
-EOTech XPS2
-HK E2 Stock
-Magpul ASAP sling point
-Magpul MIAD Pistol Grip
-Magpul Trigger Guard
-Magpul RVG
-Magpul XTM Rail Covers
-Surefire M951 Mellenium Weapon Light
-Green Laser

Post a picture. How much did you pay for the DPMS? And did you use a DPMS parts kit? Thanks, Mike

Paid, 1500$ for 2 DPMS complete rifles assembled, including shipping to FFL. Don't have a current pic because the rifle and parts are in San Antonio and I am in Kansas. Last time I used it was last January. Here it is set up as a deer rifle with a Leupold, the Timney trigger, and Crapco rails.

Cool did you shoot a deer with it?

Yes I did. A 100lb Doe from about 270 yards back in Jan10. This was in Webb County TX, 5min north of Laredo.

I dare say your name is in a federal database by virtue of visiting this site.

Awesome shoot. What kind of bullet did you use to take the doe? I was thinking of doing some coytoe hunting with my AR-15 5.56 rifle. I was also thinking of trying to deer hunt with my AR as well. What kind of shot placement do you use when aiming at the deer?

It was 55gr FMJ. Not the best deer hunting round, but she took two steps and dropped.
I wasn't planning on shooting anything but Coytoes and javelinas, but the opportunity presented itself, so I took the shot.
It was zero'd at 100yards so I aimed about 6inches above her back.
This year, If I get a chance, I want to try out Hornady TAP 75 Gr.

That's a long scope. What power is it?

It's a VX-I 3-9x40mm
same thing as Leupold Mark AR except it doesn't have the bullet drop compensator.
