Tips For Painting the Aimpoint R1

With so many people ordering and saying they are painting these R1's, what is involved in doing so? How much do I need to take apart and do you recomend any prep before the rattle can? I am assuming a good tape job to prevent spray where not wanted is a big key. TIA

This has been covered but tape the lenses, spray away.

Scotchbrite or some Slip 725 probably wouldn't hurt anything.
