Well thanks to my wonderful wife I found a new rail, comp, and sling under the tree on Christmas morning. I got a Troy TRX Extreme 13" FDE rail, A Battlecomp 1.0 Comp a Magpul MS-2 sling (black) and magpul ASAP.

I love the color of the TRX and its WAYYYY light. it mounts tight and secure and just feels good. The only complaint I have is that it didnt come with the double ended tool everyone seems to be getting but instead a closed end tool, and also the 4" rail section would not fit, i guess the screws werent long enough. I had to grind down the section that has the v groove on it that goes inside the rail. After that i got my AFG mounted securely. I got in a hurry and ordered the wrong troy low pro gas block and it was too big so i just shaved down my front sight base to clear the rail and keep it free floating.

The Battlecomp was a breeze to install. Once tight i still needed 3/4 of a turn to get it lined up so i just tightened then loosened over and over etc..... until it lined up perfectly.

The sling seems nice and comfy but i havent mounted the ASAP because I dont have the right tools. Ill take it to get installed properly and staked. Im leaning towards the magpul RSA for a front attachment anyone have ideas on a good front sling mount for the Troy TRX?

Anyway im not an expert and this is my first AR that i own and use on duty. I know I know its a bushmaster but hopefully soon ill have the money to get a good lower parts kit and a BCM BCG.

I just got my Eotech 512 back from being fixed, the projector lens came loose so i sent it back. Ive only fired about 3-400 rounds with the EOTECH on...... anyway i sold it to my brother who wanted one and im about to order an Aimpoint ML2 or ML3. I dont trust the EO after that sorry eotech lovers if that happened on duty in a bad situation i might be 6 ft deep. Ill try to get before and after pics posted in the next few days.

You should check out the "Mount-n-Slot" components from IWC (Impact Weapon Components) for the TRX Extreme BattleRails. Their kit does away with all of the accessory rails, keeping it as light as possible when adding accessories to the handguard.

I mounted an AFG on my TRX early on, and it just seemed to defeat the purpose of this rails design (lean & mean).

I recently got set-up with the IWC "Mount-n-Slot" handstop, front sling mount, and Scout Light mount for my new Surefire Mini Scout.

The guys @ IWC are really good folks, and over the past few months that I have been running their handstop and sling mount, I am completely sold on their kit. Good stuff!

I will post some pics of my 14.5" middy later with my new Scout Light set-up....

Stay safe,
Nick

Wow, you guys are truly lucky to be aloud to hang your rifles in your front passenger compartment. We only have shotgun racks and have been trying to get our department to let us get a way to mount our rifles up front. Nice looking rifle too.

6975I used the Mount-n-slot on mine. I like it, it's clean and solid. Troy is also supposed to come out with one that is specific to the Troy rail.

The mount-n-slot sling mounts are awesome. Great upgrade to your rifle! Good handiwork getting that FSB shaved down.

Congrats!

I picked up a 9" TRX for my 10" 300 BLK barrel. I also ordered the Mount-n-Slot for a QD VTAC Sling. I mounted a AAC Breakout on mine becaue it will be getting a suppressor soon.

The BC 1.0 is great as well, I have one on a 16" 5.56 Noveske AR.

Thanks for posting the pics. Enjoy!

Thx guys I'm not done with the fsb I'm gonna shave some more and paint it flat black. I'm still debating on whether I should get a shorty vfg or a hand stop like nickdrak mentioned. I like the feel of the afg but it is bulky on the Troy tube.*And alot of guys at our dept carry them in-between the seats or in a case in the back but I want mine handy. It comes in the house with me every night after work so I don't worry about it being stolen.

I have built alot of rifles over the past 10 years, and without a doubt this is my favorite handling build yet.

Great thread!

I've been doing a lot of research on this... and ended up ordering the 13" TRX last night from Troy. I got an email confirmation today that it shipped.

I took my front sight off the Smith, cut / filed it down and made a low profile gas block out of it, and now I'm just waiting on the TRX to be delivered.

Once I have it on, I will post some pics of it as well. My M&P is painted... so the TRX will be painted to match.

Nice looking rifles everyone.

Nice Rifle Dfarmer! My first patrol rifle was a Bushy. She served me well for 6 years and 10K rounds. I have since moved on to other brands. As long as everyone is sharing pics of Troy rails, here's my addition:

They work on both versions (both made by Troy)of the TRX "BattleRail" Troy (Holes) or VTAC (Slots).

Nice piece, but why is your barrel oriented towards the passenger side? Driver's side orientation would enable you to exit the vehicle barrel first. less manipulation of the weapon would be required.

No offense intended, just a thought.

Ram- actually mine didn't come with instructions, I got the info on how line it up on this forum.

And 11b101abn- it's like that because I work all my traffic stops from the passenger side, run stuff on my laptop, print tickets etc... I feel more secure on that side during heavy traffic and I can watch people better. I'll be able to react better standing on that side than sitting in the driver seat staring down at the computer.*I'll be easy meat if the occupants decided to shoot at me through the windshield
