So I'm inspecting the R-1 I just got from Midway and after looking at I notice that the front lens doesn't appear to be sitting in the housing straight. In the pictures you can see that the lens slants down to the right. Now this may be part of the design and perfectly normal but I wanted to check here before I called Aimpoint.

Thanks.

Just checked mine and it is the same way. Also my T1 does the same thing.

All Aimpoints I have seen are like this.

I believe that it is to keep light from reflecting directly back to wherever you are pointing the gun. I have heard that before but it could be incorrect.

Strange. All that came up for me were threads about aimpoint lens covers. Thanks, I guess this ones done.

Were you using the built-in search? I find that most built-in searches suck. Try using google and use the term inurl:"m4carbine.net" in front of your search terms to find stuff.

For example:

inurl:"m4carbine.net" aimpoint canted lens

That brings the thread I linked up as the first result. :)

I used to do that but I typically use the search function here ever since they incorporated it with google. It usually works pretty good. Guess I'll use the other way as well to make double dip sure from now on.

It's angled that way so it's facing the LED, otherwise they'd have to grind a really lopsided lens.

The site search is powered by Google........ but I can never get it to work on site so I just do the above. I think it's the settings.

If you cannot remember inurl: you can use site: for the same or very similar results

ie, in google

site:m4carbine.net aimpoint canted lens
