Not sure why you would return it. Absolutly nothing wrong with Korean manufactured ammo.

ETA: IIRC, the "A" in Q3131A means it was produced in Korea.

I've never seen Korean stuff labeled as Q3131... always figured that was Winchester's code for Israeli-made ammo.

For what it's worth, Korean PMC "X-Tac" M855 is a pretty decent M855 clone. No NATO stamp, but otherwise it looks and shoots the same.

X-TAC is 5.56 pressure? If so I'm gonna grab some while its cheap, I thought it was regular .223 PMC with a 62gr projectile.

Winchester Q3131A1

Three 10-shot groups of the Winchester Q3131A1 load were fired in a row. The extreme spreads of those groups measured:

2.95”
3.73”
3.35”

for a 10-shot average extreme spread of 3.34”. The three 10-shot groups were over-layed on each other using RSI Shooting Lab to form a 30-shot composite group. The mean radius for the composite group was 1.05”.

The smallest 10-shot group.

The velocity specification for M193 as cited in MIL-C-9963F states:

The average velocity of the sample cartridges, conditioned at 72 degrees, plus or minus 2 degrees Fahrenheit (F), shall be 3165 feet per second (ft/sec), plus or minus 40 ft/sec, at 78 feet from the muzzle of the weapon. The standard deviation of the velocities shall not exceed 40 ft/sec.

The specification is for a 20” barrel. Depending on multiple variables, this velocity specification equates to a muzzle velocity of approximately 3270 ft/sec, plus or minus 40 ft/sec.

If it was in GI brown boxes you'd be getting decent ammo to fight with.

Winchester re-brands it to spread love for guys who want decent blaster ammo without going Russian or east bloc.

Q3131 - Winchester Olin
Q3131A - Israeli Military Industries (I believe name has changed to Israeli Weapons Industries) in Winchester white box.
Q3131A1 - PMC in Winchester white box.

All are pretty darned hot and fast and function well in GI guns.

Seen a lot of the Korean loaded 5.56 ammunition being sold on websites as "Winchester : Made in America." Even the box in the product discription has the US code Q3131 on it. Ordered some and it was the Korean ammuntion. Returned it and got Black Hills ammunition.

You sent back some good ammo. Probably my favorite of the M193 wannabe realm. I hate 3131. The quality of 3131 has been horrible in my experience.
