Intro: Did some informal testing today, first extended range session with this KAC UM4QD. I have always heard the debate about Quick detach cans and point of impact shift when you add/remove the suppressor. Especially about the KAC cans moving the impact severely at 50/100yards. So along with the all around round count test, I wanted to see for myself, since it is applicable.

Inital setup Rifle Setup:
Me
rifle
Can
Grip-pod
borrowed nightforce 3.5-15x
ammo
no bags

Sight in Target @ 100 Yards (disclaimer: i do not pretend to be a off duty designated marksmen, my groups are my groups, im an average joe blow who can sometimes pull the trigger well, sometimes not)

Lucky me, didn't have to waste much ammo futzing with new-arguy's nightforce, it was borrowed "pre-zero'd" :)

First 10 round Test Group fired with the suppressor attached, with 75grain Black Hills Match Blue Box (some serious breathing issues there, something maybe said for trying to use a Grip-Pod as a true bipod, but for the intention of this rifle, all is well)

Suppressor was removed, same point of aim was used, and another 10 round test group fired:

That is approximately an up shift of 7inches, with the suppressor removed

I decided then to find out if this much shift occured with different types of ammo. I started running low, my shooting buddy started going nuts with the 12.5, so i had to stick to 5 round groups. [:D]

Remington 55grain UMC FMJ, bottom group was suppressor attached, top group was removed:
Approximately 5inch shift up

Black Hills 69 grain Hollow Point Blue Box:
Approx 6 inch shift up

Federal Premium 77grain SMKs
Approx 7 inch shift up

Very informal test once again, wanted to re-state that. My tape measure was always exactly in the center of the groups nor completely laid out, nor am I that great of a shot ( I did call a "flyer" on the last picture, I felt the gun move before I shot). But the average shift among all the ammo was approx 6.25inches low with the suppressor attached @ 100yards. Best group of the day was just around MOA, and with a grip-pod and no bags, Im happy with that. The can was quiet to my ears, it did not hurt, and with the midlength gas system made it enjoyable to keep planted on the deck.

FWIW.
