Class 3 / SOT using "inventory"?

Is a class 3 dealer able to obtain AND use NFA items that are simply on a Form 3 as inventory in their store, or do they need to purchase a stamp and transfer it to themselves before using them?

I know it's a random question, but I'm in the process of opening a store and this is a technicality that I cannot find much information on...

In a nutshell, are items on a Form 3 legal for everyday use or does the BATF require them to be on a Form 4 for an individual?

Yes.

The FFL/SOT hold can possess/use any thing that's on a Form 3 to that FFL/SOT. As can any bonafide employee-agent of that company. This is all in the NFA Handbook.

Thanks, I need to find a copy of that handbook and spend some time studying... Kinda stinks paying the $3000 additional fees to obtain that title, but it may be worth it in the long run, if you plan to keep/use multiple NFA items, huh?
