How long is a complete AR upper with a 14.5" barrel + BattleComp 1.5?

Wondering because I'm looking for a discrete case for my carbine once I get it finished. I realized that transporting it broken-down would open up the possibilities quite a bit, and a local sports store has a decent sale going on for their gym bags. :)

OAL of the 1.5 is 2.150". Subract about .5" of barrel thread that will be located internal to the 1.5, add crush washer thickness and you should end up at around 16.2" OAL. It's variable depending on where the device ends up under compression but that's a fair ballpark figure.

I think he wants the length of the entire barreled upper, not just the barrel with pinned BC. Total upper with a 16.2" barrel is going to be somewhere in the 22-24" range, but I don't have the exact number handy.

Why not measure yours?

I don't have a 14.5" to measure. My 16" carbine with a 1.0 installed measures 24.75" from the end of the charging handle to the end of the comp.

I just measured mine, standard upper with a 14.5" BCM barrel and battlecomp 1.5 pinned and welded gives me a 16.1" barrel measured from the bolt breech face and a 23 7/8" length from tip of the battlecomp to the rearmost part of the upper receiver which just happens to be the forward assist. That would probably compress about 1/8" if you needed to shoehorn it into a container... but I'd go a bit larger and make sure you've got at least 24"

Basically that^^.

'Cause I don't quite have it yet. :sarcastic:

Thanks--that's exactly what I needed! :)
