When installing a Specter Gas Block, instructions state I need to leave a 1/32" gap between the shoulder of the barrel and the Gas Block itself. I believe this is to ensure the gas ports in both barrel and block align. What's the best way to determine the gap size ? Other than using a ruler, etc. are there any other tricks of the trade? My build is almost complete and am completing it with the install of a free float handguard. Thanks to all !

Seems like a feeler guage would be the wat to go. Should be able to find one at any auto parts store.

Go with a feeler gauge, an alternative would be a handguard cap dremeled in halve.

A credit card is .02999" and 1/32 is .031". That'd probably get you there just fine.

Thanks for the tips guys. I had thought of the handguard cap but my suppressor is pinned on. Never thought of cutting it in half.
