OK - this damn forum computer thingy won't let me post in the "general" section - so this will have to do:)

Am heading from Central IL to Indianapolis, IN tomorrow. A quick Google of Indiana transport laws for handguns keeps saying this: "unloaded and cased in trunk or outside storage unless you have a permit". I have an open bed pickup - so there's no way the Glock is going "outside".

Any foreseeable problems with it unloaded, in a case with loaded mags, and the case inside of my console (no, console doesn't lock)???? (FWIW - as ass backwards as IL is - I can transport here with the unloaded weapon and loaded mags in the console without a case - go figure!)

TIA to any IN residents with info.

I dont have the awnser, but if you check out the Indiana gun owners site (or even join and ask) I am sure you will find the awnser. Indiana honors many states permits (not sure if you have a IL permit) and IL does not honor ours. Sorry I could not have a better awnser.

Here is the link.

Indiana (http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/indiana.pdf)

page 6 basically says no loaded weapon can be carried in a vehicle without permit/license.

I am not a LEO, but that seems right. I have a copy of the Indiana Gun laws somewhere, I will start looking for it.

Obvious question: Can you lock it behind your seat? I wouldn't put anything like that in the console.
