7 or 8 rounds not enough for your tactical shotgun? This maybe your answer...

My shoulders and upper back strain at the thought of trying to clear a yard or residence with one of those on my shotty. I like the idea, but if I needed that much capacity I would just take along my carbine.

Minimum recommended barrel length.... 22 inches? NO THANKS! I'll keep practicing my reloading skills. :D

If you're so inclined, a 20 round MD drum fits just fine under an SBS Saiga.

A solution in search of a problem.

I'm an old school 870 fan and I am one of the few around my department that really knows how to run it. Although my first choice is the AR, I'm just as confident with the old pump gun. Remember, if you are not shooting, you are loading. :big_boss:

This thing really does seem useless. Too much weight and not enough return.

Putting all that ammo at the very front of the gun will ruin the handling characteristics completely. This thing is a bad idea for gun games and defense. Perhaps it's good for shooting fruit and vegetables??? :(

Full Version for Remington = 2.1 pounds

Compact Version for Remington = 1.8 pounds

And that's on empty!

That's more ****ed up than a football bat.

Shotguns, especially those with barrels longer than 20'', are already front heavy for the most part. This would basically be the equivalent of duct taping a 5lb dumbell to the end of your barrel. It's one more thing to break and one more thing to bang the shit out of or get caught on every edge, tabletop, door/window frame, etc you come across. If someone is that paranoid about running out of shells, they need to get ahold of a Saiga and some 10rd mags or 20rd drums.

So, let me get this straight: they're advocating a 26"-bbl shotgun with close to 8 lbs hanging off the end of it as a 'tactical' weapon?

Sounds like a football bat to me, indeed.

It's for 3 gunners and people who just want a lot of rounds in their gun. It's kind of like a drum magazine on an AR.

I guess it would allow you to be competitive in open without running a Saiga, but it still severely compromises the handling of the gun. You can plainly see that on the youtube video. That will cause a mediocre shooter to miss more often, and slow down the target transition for anyone using it.

I'm with MK18 on this one, full retard.

They are not legal in USPSA yet well not if you load past 10+1. They are legal in outlaw matches. A few guys up here bought a few to beat me with my R&R saiga and so far they haven't. The problem they have is this. You can not quickly reload or change ammo at least not any faster than you can on a conventional shotgun. Once you deplete on of the tubes it rotates to the next one. I creamed a friend of mine on a stage where we had to shoot 8 steel targets with shot and then 9 slug rounds. When he got to the slugs he could not stuff more rounds into his gun because the next tube was up so he had to jack a few shells out of the gun in his 1100 to make room for some slugs. That cost him a lot of time. Another issue is when you run out you can only top it back up to what your original mag holds say for example 8 or 10 rounds. I can instantly put in a new 12 or 20 round mag.

The Xrail has some things going for it but it also has some things that are not so good.
Here is one being fired by a friend of mine.
