I'm looking for any information concerning what I've read is the upcoming HK45 Tactical. The HK45 is going to be my next handgun, and I am very interested in this model. I tried to find information on hkpro.com. All information pointed to a late 2008 or early 2009 release, but I don't have confidence that they will be able to meet that date. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck, I really don't think HK is going to release such a pistol any time soon, if they were going to, they would have done it by now.

Just buy an HK45, buy the barrel and the sights and call it a day.

There is also a gentlemen selling an HK45 WITH the threaded barrel on HKpro.com.

However I'm not sure if I can post that link here.

HKpro.com > HK pistols for sale > WTS NIB HK45 with new Threraded Barrel not USP 1100.00 shipped

Thanks for the links. I've seen the threaded barrels and the Heinie sights, but I was thinking more along the lines of the taller suppressor sights that are on the USP Tactical. I am also waiting for the neutral tan framed guns to be released. Any word on those?

HK has stated on HKPRO and on their forum that they have no plans on releasing a factory HK45 Tactical as well as any colored frame HK45/HK45c.

Bitter/sweet news, I guess. Disappointed for sure, but indefinite waiting games are no fun. I'll see if there are any surprises at SHOT and go from there. Do you have any links to those statements?

Sorry I do not have a link the either. The threads I have seen are over a year old. You can do a search to see if it will come up.

Post up a new thread on the HK USA forum asking these questions to see if anything has changed. You should get a reply direct from HK.

Don't hold your breath for HK to release something new at SHOT. They have been putting all their efforts into the release of the fabled MR series rifles and we all know how that's going.

It would be nice if they sold the same pistol NSW just picked up (HK45CT).

Does anyone know if the factory HK45 LEMs come with the light or the heavy LEM group?

I think you can get light or regular. I sent mine back to Columbus, GA and had the light LEM installed. It's nice and one day I will send it to Bowie for the internal over-travel stop or Bruce Gray for the works.

Has anyone here had their HK45 worked on at either place?

Heinie makes taller supressor sights as well. Check the HK page.

If you want your framed painted, just get it duracoated.

a local dealer had one about a week ago, 1/2/11 to be exact. i fondled it as i waited to get on the range. it was a v3(?) HK45c decock only, threaded barrel, and 10rd mags. it did not have tall sights however. i did not see the box to confirm if HK had tagged it as a HK45CT.

of course, since i could not get it literally the next guy that walks in who asks to see it, buys it. he said he had been looking for one since he was impressed with the one he used for work.

there are a few of those guys around here who use HK's for work (416, MK23, HK45CT), from what i have heard...

I realize this thread is almost a year old to the day. I found it in the search to see if the news had been posted yet. HK just announced they will be making them, offered in black, FDE, and OD.

My HK45CT is just an american made pistol with a german threaded barrel. Same sights and markings as a regular one.

I think the sticker on the box and the extended mag are the only things thats different. Will double check when I get home.

Thread starter,

Instead of searchin around forever for a tactical, get a threaded barrel off of hkparts.net and put it into a regular hk45c, same thing.

You will spend only a little more ($100??) getting the barrel and pistol seperately, but then you have two barrels to play with!

Edit: Yup, mine came in a gray case, says Tactical on the sticker. Barrel serial doesn't match the rest of the gun even.

Tactical models have the decocker only

Mine is DA/SA with the thumb safety.

I did check out a newer one at the LGS and it was decocker only. Maybe they're all like that now. :bad:

Yet another reason to "build" your own.

Disregard.

Looks like the info on the HK45 Tactical and the 2013 news release is covered in Paco's post from yesterday. Sorry fellas.

I had my HK45C get the GGI RRCDP and they also installed Heinie Straight-8s.
