I want to start my 1st BCM build. Ban compliant unfortunately. I have 3 Noveske 14.5" guns. A basic N4, N4 lo-pro light (Both with T1s) and a Afghan with a Nightforce.
I want to either put a T1 on the new gun or get a TA33 or TR24G, put it on the Lo-Pro Light and put the T1 on it now and put it on the new gun.
Shoult I snatch up a 16" LW mid or 14.5" mid?

You already have three rifles serving two purposes, you don't need four rifles serving two purposes (three of which are only serving one).

Why not do something 'different'? If you can't do anything different, spend the money on training and ammo... or optics for what you've got?

Then again- Two is One, One is None

I'd say 16" middy. Throw an optic on it. And you have a gun that will give you a little extra range if need be. I have a 16" LW middy and its an awesome upper.

Do your 14.5s have perm'd brakes? If so, you most certainly need to do a build with a removable fh. IMHO, they are much more serviceable.

They do have permed Surefire brakes but all my guns must have a permed brake or crowned bbl with no muzzle device. I can't have a FH or removable muzzle device.
The Afghan has a Nightforce 1-4 but I will probably sell that and trade up to a 2.5-10. The other 2 guns have T1s so I sort of have 2 is 1. I was going to take the T1 off of 1 of the N4s and put an acog or TR24 on that one and put that remaining T1 on the LW 16 mid or 14.5 Mid

I was going to use either the VTAC 11" or DD 12" lite. Do the VTACs get really hot or does it take a ton of constant fire to get it that hot?

I have a 13in VTAC extreme rail on my 20in and it does not get hot, I believe the ribbed design helps give the rail more surface area to dissapte heat. In any case both rails are free floating and should only transfer heat to rear most part of the rail where they contact the barrel nut.

Man! I shot Iraqgunz 16" BCM Middy last weekend, and it was NICE.

It's the perfect general purpose rifle if you want to retain a removable muzzle device and avoid NFA.

I've got 3 16"'s and 3 14.5"'s, all middies. I very much prefer the 14.5's. But I'll echo what was said above about duplicationg what you already have. Why not build a really nice longer range rifle? What recticle do you have on the NF 1-4? I've got a 2.5-10 with mil-dot I'm considering trading for a 1-4.

Mine is the BFH lightweight version, and I LOVE it. :D

I need a T1 and a MOE illumination kit + flashlight for my MOE handguards and it's good to go.
