I recently picked up a post-WW2 M-1 carbine in a trade. It's in really good shape internally, and I have been wanting one for years, so I had to jump on it.
After one range trip, and a friend confirmed this when I let him take it out later, I have discovered that it is shooting way high, even with the rear sight bottomed out. I've shot Wolf, MagTech, and some USGI ammunition, 110gr FMJ all, and it shoots beautiful little golf-ball size groups at 50 yards...about a foot over the point of aim. :(
I know I need a taller front sight post. Question is, where?
