In a continued effort to host and provide world class training opportunities in the Carolina’s, Aesir Training is proud to announce Defensive Concepts North Carolina’s AK Specific Rifle Course, April 30th, 2011 near Charlotte, NC

The Basic Kalashnikov course is designed to provide each student with the core skills needed to properly use the Kalashnikov pattern rifle in a safe and effective manner in defensive situations. The course is taught using the Vickers Shooting Method and covers the following topics: marksmanship fundamentals, rifle manipulations, and extensive shooting drills at various distances using several shooting positions. All Kalashnikov pattern rifles (AK, Galil, Valmet, etc) are welcome.

The following principles will be strongly reinforced throughout the
course:
• Know and adhere to the real world safety rules that govern professional firearms handling.
• Only accurate hits on target can decide the fight in your favor therefore accuracy is King.
• You are accountable for every round you fire – squeeze the trigger as if your life depends on it because it does.

About Defensive Concepts North Carolina:
In 2005, Defensive Concepts North Carolina was created with the intent of educating its students in the principles of survival mindset, defensive skills with and without firearms, and other defensive tactics. Our staff bring to you skillsets earned through Military and Law Enforcement experience and various training organizations. Our training capabilities encompass nearly all disciplines of personal defense. We are dedicated to bringing quality, affordable self-defense training to the citizens of North Carolina. The material taught by our staff is designed to enable a person to protect themselves and their loved ones in the most effective manner possible during crisis situations.

About Chris Clifton:
A Law Enforcement professional employed by a large metropolitan agency in North Carolina. He is also a veteran of the US Army where he worked as an Airborne Infantryman. Chris's firearms training includes multiple pistol, rifle, and shotgun courses taught by a variety of instructors and organizations to include: Larry Vickers, Ken Hackathorn, Bill Jeans, Kyle DeFoor, Scott Reitz, Pat Rogers, Paul Howe, US Training Center and the Surefire Institute. Chris also has an extensive martial arts background that spans over 14 years. In addition to rankings in several different systems, Chris has experience in Brazilian JiuJitsu, police defensive tactics and military combatives.

Chris is honored to be one of six firearms instructors in the United States selected to be Vickers Shooting Method regional instructors. Chris began training with Larry Vickers in 2006 and credits him with providing the necessary skills needed to break several training plateaus Chris had encountered. The Vickers Shooting Method has been a huge influence on Chris and he looks forward to being able to share it with all shooters that are interested in learning safe, effective firearm use.

Over the years, Chris has taught numerous members of the Military, Law Enforcement, and concerned citizen communities and presently serves as an instructor and works on course development for Defensive Concepts North Carolina

Students will need:

• 1 zeroed AK pattern rifle (AK, Galil, Valmet, etc)
• 3 functional magazines (minimum)
• A method of carrying 2 magazines on the firing line
• Sling (optional)
• 500 Rounds of Ammunition (minimum)
• Sight adjustment tool (optional)
• Knee and elbow pads (optional)
• Gloves (optional but highly recommended)
• Pen/Pencil and Paper
• Ear and Eye Protection
• Cleaning kit

Slots still available for this class. Defensive Concepts NC are top-notch instructors, and the range is conveniently located off of I-77 just north of Charlotte. If you own an AK, this is an excellent opportunity to become proficient and confident with the platform.
