MIL using 12.25" uppers?

Saw this browsing TOS (I enjoy their mk18 thread). It shows two different 12.25" upper receiver groups in the accessory block. Curious if these are actually floating around and in use or if they are items that are available if the need arises.

I would assume they are Colt with DD furnishings? Anyone have information on this?

The GL/SSC had a very limited amount made for the military, and it went no where. The MK18 was already in use, and the program was not felt to be enough of a benefit. At least that is what I was told by someone involved in the program.
