Anyone seen or used one yet? They will run off of two CR123s...

Ebay has them for less than $20 shipped from overseas...

The 120lumen one I bought awhile back is great @ $11.50 shipped...

Thats calculated lumen, not lumen out front. Subtract at least one third losses in electronics and reflector and have (still amazing) 130-140 Lumen.

How do these things work? Is it just a replacement lamp that I can swap out with the incandescent bulb in my 6P or G2Z?

Think of LED's like diamonds. The better ones are always more expensive. If you wat a good CREE, look to spend between $40-$60.

Well I bought an $11.50 LED lamp (just like the standard lamp in 6Ps and G2s so it's just a simple swap to answer your question) and it puts out more light than my X200a, way much more.

Yes these LEDs are like diamonds with different grades in quality. But, the $20 bargain bin ones still outshine any non 4th gen Cree...

Who says you have to take off "power loss" from the 200 lumens? This isn't an engine putting out 200 hp at the crank with drivetrain loss. The power comes straight out of the LED. There's nowhere else to measure the Lumens but at the output level...

Depends. Measuring lumen output from a flashlight vs the light source are different. Lumen output from the source alone does not pick up loss from reflector, lens and whatnots. Surefire ranks their lights off of out the front of the light radiation, not bulb radiation or their numbers would be higher.

And watch the heat on that LED lamp. LED's die horrible tragic, yet colorful, deaths when run at higher output than spec, which is what it sounds like your lamp might be doing. In theory, an older Lux III can give you 200+ lumens if you overpower it, but it overheats, isn't efficient, and dies. I caught one on fire once....

Do you have a link to the seller's ad?

Yeah, here are some ebay links- I don't put much faith in ebay ads but we all knew these lamps were coming and i think they are here...

Thanks,

I have one that appears to be of the same make as the first link. Mine is a P4 running at about 750mA. I was told the output is roughly 140lumens from the lamp assembly. It didn't fit to well in my G2's, but fits fine without the outer spring in my metal lights.

LED might be able to run at 200lumens, but I'm not so sure if the electronics are pushing it that hard.

So the lumen numbers don't mean anything to me I guess...

I know that the last cree I got off of an electronics place overseas was advertising 120Lumens and it puts out more than my X200a- much brighter with a longer throw in the G2.

I would assume that if they said that it's 120 and it's actually x and this new one is supposedly 200 then it must output near y. y>x>x200a which is enough for me to buy one. I don't care if it puts out 200 or 150 turds, it's got to be brighter.
