John Harrison of Harrison Design (http://www.harrisoncustom.com/Home.aspx)built this Colt LW Commander for me about two years ago. It's been my favorite carry 1911, a big improvement over the stock piece that I bought used from a guy on another forum. Gone were the razor sharp edges, the Wilson beavertail improved the handling and comfort, the trigger set at my request of 4.5 lbs, the mainspring housing received the round butted treatment that John does so well. John replaced the itty bitty Colt sights with the excellent Yost Bonitz Retro rear and his own gold bead front sight. I'm sold on the gold bead, I can pick it up from dawn til dusk in most lighting condition. Black T finish, reliability job and replacement of all internal parts took care of the rest.
This gun shoots great. I have ZERO malfunction with my own handloads and various factory rounds. It shoots straight when I do my job correctly.
But it's missing something :)
I have Crimson Trace lasers on my Beretta and my daily back up gun S&W 642. I've been shooting them for at least 3 years with the laser and in low light to total darkness, it's like cheating ! Every 642 sold should have a Crimson Trace on it, period. But that's another story.
I stumbled on a great deal on this pair of slightly used CT-401 with the front activation button, and I didn't let it slip from me. Thanks Admin :) The button on the slim line wrap around front strap is easily and positively engaged during normal grip. It's comfortable, doesn't alter my grip and hardly noticeable. I took it to the range to zero it, but found that I didn't have to do any adjustment. It shot POA/POI from arms length to 10-12 yds. I didn't shoot it any farther than that. Shooting freestyle, strong hand only, weak hand only, it didn't matter. The bullet holes appeared in one small cluster that I could cover with a playing card.
Now the package is complete, a gun that serves as my protector 24 hrs. round the clock.
Thanks John, Admin and Crimson Trace.

Very nice pistol and classy, understated appearance. It almost brings a tear to my eye from remembering the LW Commander I sold that I immediately regretted!
