What is the product called that contains 1200 grit particles, used for polishing or loosening up metal to metal contact???

I have a super tight barrel bushing that needs to relieved ever so slightly...

Are you talking about Flitz? I'm not sure about the grit rating, but it's very mild.

Actually, I think this was it: J-B Non-Embedding Bore Cleaning Compound (http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/productdetail.aspx?p=1160&st=non-embedding&s=)

Except it says it's for bore cleaning.....:confused:

I'm thinking I may have written the name down wrong.

Brownells sells lapping compound. I think I have some in 600 and 800 grit. I also have some valve grinding compound with is much more course.

Thats how I fit my 1911 barrel/bushing (well a file and dremel too - but the final work was painstaking hand work.)

The slide in fit is actually OK, it the interaction between the barrel bushing lug and the channel it rides in, as well as the interaction between the Kart bushing and the Kart barrel.

While I'm sure it amounts to nice accuracy, it's a real MF'er to put together. :mad:

Sounds like one of those where the bushing wrench is mandatory!

Check Midway. They had some in smaller quantities and finer grits.

Shivan -- roger that the same issue I had with the "drop in" Wilson Cbt barrel and bushing kit in my STI frame.

I was told the 600 grit would do a much better job - and for me it worked flawlessly (well a lot of hard work.)
