Video of the HK 416C from the website Kit Up!
HK Director for Government Sales Dale Bohner explains the features, but the audio is low unfortunately

Interesting SMG or more like "sub-compact rifle" to take the place of their HK33 in the 5.56mm x 45mm offering(?)
"Designed to meet a requirement for British special forces, the 416C is more than simply an AR with a 10 inch barrel, says Dale Bohner, H&K’s government sales director."

I'm hoping it's just me, but it appears both links are now dead, or incorrectly hotlinked.

Just don't mention the SIG556 and everything will remain civil...
And I think HK needs to be commended for jumping through all the hoops needed to make civilian firearms in the USA. (Though, I don't believe this endeavor was just for civilians)
I think the MR556 is heavy, and far too expensive, but I do believe it will be a rock solid product.

Having both German an US regulations against it to happen - I also wonder why they did bother?
It's heavy (per AR15 standards) and it's expensive - all right. But I know several people who had option to got quality AR for less money and choosen MR223 - and those were not HKool-Aid drinkers, like me. Personally I just cut MR223 price in half, because it cures two diseases in one rifle: Black Rifle Disease and HK Disease.
Back on topic:
This HK416C looks like HK finally gives up on G36 line. From ergonomic point of view, it's OK. But technically it probably was nightmare to bend AR15 so far. It's almost going into MP7 area.

So the way he described the buffer spring...does that mean the rear of the bolt has been hollowed out for the spring to go into the metal of the bolt? Thats all I can figure from what he said anyway

Colt has something similar going on. Shortened buffer tube
Interesting, both the Colt and HK would fill a niche for me. Wasn't Colt supposed to be selling the SCW stock/buffer by now?

They probably got it to fit into the back of the bolt carrier group while still using the same bolt. I bet they changed the profile of the BCG to add weight to it to help make up for the small buffer or the lack of buffer as a result of space constraints.
About time somebody did this. Thought of this concept a while back--shortened Bolt Carrier, flat-wire type spring, etc.
Did Colt ever release their SCW? It probably would have done well in the civilian market--I'm a fan of folding stocks.

The HK416C has an official page on HK's website.
I bet the cheekweld sucks with that stock though

They should have put a non-moveable cheekpad on the buffer ala Magpul UBR.

I can see this being extremely popular for PSD types. Kudos to HK for releasing a (relatively) innovative weapon.

So is this going to be available in a civilian model? Im not to familiar with this weapon but I have heard about the Hk 416 butit was not available to the public.
This really makes me wanna go SBR. Too bad my sheriff won't allow them in his county.

Thats stock looks like it needs work, but the overall concept looks great.
Haven't we seen this before? I thought this was public knowledge awhile back....
It was first seen a few months ago.

If you get a trust, wont he not have a choice? ;)

Possibly. Honestly, I haven't looked into it
Those front sights are a weak point on the 416, I have seen more than a few break off. replace them with the troy flip ups.
Perhaps they will come up with a stock like on the MK 46 Saw on a small buffer assembly.
Thing looks pretty bad ass! I would love to get my hands on one
