Let me start by saying I realize dual-duty will mean less than optimal for either 5.56mm or .22lr. I understand.

I'm looking for a 5.56mm rated can that breaks-down for cleaning out .22lr crud without needing to put the whole can in a acidic bath that creates very toxic lead byproducts.

The YHM can is one I've seen suggested that is 5.56mm and is user disassembleable for cleaning. Any other to consider or recommend? This will be used on a Noveske 10.5" upper with switch block. I expect 75% or more of the rounds through it will end-up being a .22lr conversion bolt (due to local range rules).

Eventually, I'll get a couple of my .22lr pistols threaded and get a dedicated .22lr pistol can. In the meantime, I'd like a rifle/sbr can for both 5.56 and rimfire.

Allen Arms is running a special right now. Buy any 5.56 can and get a free AAC Pilot .22 can. Just FYI

I don't think YHM has a user-serviceable 5.56 can. No 22lr can will stand up to 5.56 pressure, that I know of to date. Most are aluminum.

I would suggest that if you are willing to compromise on something, you might consider an M4-1000 or YHM Phantom 5.56, and buy the lower end 22lr can as well.

22lr will fill up your 5.56 can over time. Which could lead to poor performance, and some worry a bulge or maybe even a fracture/fissure.

Nobody makes a user-serviceable 5.56 can then?

edit: at a minimum, the TAC-16 looks to be one. http://www.tacticalinc.com/tac16-ar15-m16br-556mm-suppressor-p-44.html
edit: another 5.56 rated can that breaks down, Liberty Constitution : http://www.libertycans.net/constitution.html

The TAC-16 is loud in 5.56. While I've heard of Liberty, I've never seen them reviewed, or heard them in person, so yeah they might make one, but it might be taking you in to the unknown...

Although there is a youtube of someone putting a 5.56 through a SWR Specter...it is undoubtly not recomended. Although factors of barrel length, action type, and ammunition can effect the amount of build up in a silencer. The .22lr is ditry. Here is a picture off of silencer talk of a guys Specter with 1K rounds through it. I believe that he said that there were copper plated.
