Im selling my Mk18 upper and going with one of Noveske's Switchblock uppers and having a hard time deciding.

1) 10.5" Switchblock upper with 9.5" rail and AAC M4-2000 (or Mini4 depending on release timeframe)

2) 12.5' Switchblock upper with 9.5" rail and AAC SPR/M4.

Can will be on the gun 50-75% of the time. Will be used for local carbine classes and range plinking. Target distance no more than 100 yards.

I remember one of Stick's side by side pictures of the 2 upper/can combos listed they looked about the same overall length.

The M4-2000 adds only 2/10" more than the SPR/M4, so the 10.5" version would be almost 1.8" shorter overall with your listed barrel and can combos.

I have an LMT MRP CQB with a 10.5" barrel and the M4-2000 and it looks and works great.

Just looked at their switchblock uppers - the 10.5" would be pretty sweet. Hard to believe the rail is actually 9.5" as it ends right on top of the suppressor mount.

The 12.5" one would be a great host for the SPR/M4 can though, it'd fit very nicely. Both great choices in my opinion.

I'm going with the 10.5" switchblocked Noveske barrel as well and I don't think that a 9.5" rail will work with the switchblock because of the carbine length gas system, unless of course you are cutting an access hole in the rail. Just a heads up, but let me know if Noveske has told you something different.

I think he is getting the complete noveske upper...

Thanks for the info. Im leaning towards the 10.5", especially if I can snag an Mini4, should be nice and compact.

The Noveske 9.5" rail is designed for the Switchblock.

I'd find out what the weight difference is between the two setups. I imagine the 10.5/M4-2000 config will be a bit lighter.
