Do any of you have any thoughts on using airsoft replicas of your home defense tools for FOF practice in your house?

It's a very viable alternative to using FX rounds. For one thing, the chances of someone accidentally shooting real ammo during the training session is nil; as long as nobody is allowed to bring any real guns into the "Safe Zone". There are currently no projectiles available that are designed to cause death or serious bodily harm that can be fired from an Airsoft gun.

You can also safely participate in this training while wearing goggles as supposed to whole masks and the other safety equipment required when using Simmunitions.

The other factor is cost. "Gas guns" cost around $120 each. A fullt-automatic (electric) M-4 rifle can be had for under $200 each. You can buy BBs at Wally Worl for pretty much a song. This alone makes Airsoft a lot more viable for Force-on-Force training IMHO.
